You might wonder what
possibly could happen when you see this pictures
This picture was taken
on the 13 April, 2014. The photo is a picture of my house which is located in
my hometown in Central Java in the Wonogiri district. One may think it looks
like something strong had swept away the roof and poured million gallons of
water on the floor. And what was it ? I was shocked to hear the news and trying
to contact the family there to find out what really happened. This is the story
of my aunt about the incident.
Yes, it was a twister
with a scale three in my mediocre eyes, strong enough to wipe away almost the
entire roof. Trees around and twist around bunchers of bamboo trees behind the
house. It was such a normal day before it happened. One may only thought it was
going to just rain when the cloud was quite dark and a mild wind blew.
But a slight tought of
it looks strange to me did cross to my mind, as the cloud was getting darker
but atmosphere was a little hot an uneasy. It was just odd to me
The feeling was still
there when it began to rain. Oke…take it easy, it’s just raining. So… I kept
staying inside the house. Only a minute later when I was sitting down and
looked outside, I saw dry leaves, branches and dust mixed together and blew
hard from behind the house. That was when I realized, no no no it was just a
casual rain.
Soon after the wind
blew stronger, takking away all it passed. I ran outside, took my daughter ,
yelled to my father wake up from his nap and quickly find our safe place.
We were watching in
awe, speechless, seeing how the twister worked its way, threw away the roof,
took it down almost together, seeing the falling tress. It was dark, black
scary wind. The sound was hollowing, making it like a jet plane was fast
approaching the house.Mixing with the sound of the rain.
Thank God it all
happened in the middle of the day. I can’t imagine if it took place at night,
things might get worse. The twister lasted in around fifteen minutes. When we
thought it was safe enough to check the house and grateful we were all fine, we
dared ourselves to enter the house.
Goodness help !! The
house was, well I can’t tell no more. The picture has spoken million words.
Next was a hectic and chaos moment,as neighbours flooding out their houses and
found their houses were as damaged as mine.
True, as we walked
around the neighbourhood, it was like we had been just attacked by a giant who
blew a strong mighty wind out of his mouth. Unbelieveable . Thankfully none of
people was hurt, everyone was safe. The following evening was chily and dark
it, it was black out. No electricity, we managed to spend the nite with
undisribeable feeling and found the dry place to sleep. Once in my life time
Iexperienced such twister. Thing I usually just watch on tv. Thankfully the
next morning, considering the wide range of the damage the authority declared
it as a nature disaster and help soon came. One thing to learn, when the mother
nature shows its mighty power, we must respect and take it as it is.
